My Story
I lived and worked the family cattle station for many years. When I finished High School, I moved straight onto the station. We held over 300 square mile at the time. I rode and trained horses for work, and also in any of my spare time. "Holidays" consisted of packing the truck and travelling Australia with a team of horses.
However, it seemed life had a different direction in mind for me than just riding horses and chasing cattle.
My top horse Speilberg died unexpectantly, not long after jumping a clear round in the Brisbane Royal World Cup. This took a huge toll on me. I still had some nice horses, but that was the catalyst for me to look for something different, something less fragile than a competitive riding career. The outbreak of the Equine Influenza helped with that decision as well.
My life moved to Geelong, Victoria, where I studied a Bachelor of Business (Agribusiness) and a Diploma of Horse Business Management. My next step was to formalise my coaching experience by working through the levels to achieve my EA Level 2 Specialist Showjumping Coaching Accreditation.
The call of the Far North Queensland brought me back home where I continued to coach, and began to organise events. My involvement in events soon had me chasing my accreditations in officiating.

Persuing my course designing experience across the country brought a realisation that I had a passion for the development of the sport from the "other" side of the fence. This passion has led me to pursue my higher level EA accreditations as well as begin my journey into FEI.
I look forward to where this passion of horses and showjumping will lead me next...
